– family of humanity –

In my early days of a young photographer, I was influenced by Edward Steichen’s The Family of Man catalog from the 1955 The Family of Man exhibition at The Museum of Modern Art.  This work alone broadened my ideas on photography more than any other.  Photography and the image became emotional—became human. As an adult, I strive to focus on the simplicity of life and our basic human needs. Despite how different the people of the world may seem, in reality our commonality is all the greater than our cultural differences. With these images, I hope—over time—I will be able to communicate just how similar we all are.

I have tasked myself with a personal long-term project to curate the best of my work that transcends time and culture and embodies the humanity of us all
